About Rain or Shine Recruiting

 

As design and marketing roles become more highly specialized, the old ways of finding talent aren’t cutting it. Creatives don’t want to be cold-called or spammed through LinkedIn. Successful teams require diversity of talent. Folks on both sides of the hiring process want a long-term partner who can understand team dynamics, adapt to changing reqs, and connect candidates and companies that would have never otherwise found each other.

Rain or Shine was born out of a need for more attention, expertise, and care in creative recruiting. Like you all, our office hours aren’t 9-5. They’re 7-9 and 11-3 and at midnight and sometimes Sunday. Rain or shine - whenever and however our people need us.

 

For Clients

  • We source talent and recruit creatives for freelance, contract-to-hire, and full-time roles

  • Rain or Shine is NOT a staffing company, which means the folks we present to you will work for you, not us

  • Our roster of vetted talent across the US is sourced from modern communities like Slack groups, design and portfolio networks, as well as good old fashioned networking

  • Flexible and accessible: we work on an hourly basis with commission incentives for full-time hires

 

For Talent

  • You’ll do an intake with our team to help us understand your needs and strengths

  • Jobs should be a mutual fit, so we regularly check-in on goals and where you’re at in your search

  • You get a prep session before each new opportunity so you know what to expect and no one’s time is wasted

  • We work with portfolio-worthy brands and agencies, so in addition to supporting your job search we offer portfolio reviews and career coaching for folks looking to level-up

Stephen Cocchiara (he/him)

Stephen is a recruiter connecting talent with brands and agencies across the US. He has a proven record of success in placing highly skilled creative, marketing, and operations professionals with companies in all stages of growth. By streamlining the recruiting process for his clients, he is able to help diversify sources of talent in a time when companies are being held to a higher standard.

Stephen is an expert in evaluating creative talent, having worked in Digital Marketing for nearly 10 years before transitioning to recruiting. In the past three years he has successfully placed more than 100 contractors and full-time employees in Atlanta, Austin, Los Angeles, Nashville, New York, and San Francisco Bay areas in roles such as design, copywriting, project management, social media, marketing, and finance.

Before starting Rain or Shine, Stephen worked at a large creative-focused staffing agency, client-side at a design-led tech company, and with one of the most well-known advertising agencies in the world. He leans on his experience across those three areas of recruiting to better serve the needs of talent and client teams alike.

Kaitlin Maud (she/they)

Kaitlin is Rain or Shine’s operations officer. A strategist by trade, she brings more than 12 years of industry experience having worked with some of the most highly recognized brands and agencies in the world (including Media Arts Lab, BBH, Sapient, Beats by Dre, and Microsoft).

For the better part of the last decade Kaitlin has been a self-employed, remote worker. She is well versed in building high-functioning teams and has an expansive network of interdisciplinary creatives in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Boston and beyond. She leans on her consulting experience to support clients and talent alike as they adapt to new ways of working and distributed teams.

Kaitlin is a certified educator and experienced business coach. While on the agency side, she led multiple diversity and inclusion efforts and has consulted with brands on major culture change initiatives including unconscious bias training. She brings DEI best practices into both the philosophy and day-to-day operations of Rain or Shine.
